When, in 2004, we were in Shanghai for the first summer school at Fudan University, planpolitik did not even exist as an idea. It is one of the very few projects we took with us when we left our jobs at university in 2004 and started to work on the idea of setting up planpolitik. Thanks to our former boss at university, Prof Klaus Segbers, we have since then taken part in many summer schools all over the world. And we are delighted that in the meantime six different team members have had the chance to teach at Fudan university in Shanghai. Of course, we very much hope that next year there will be another opportunity to send a new team member to this exciting mega city.
From time to time it pays off to leave day-to-day business behind and to step back – who, what, where are we and where do we want to go from here? Not least, if the team grows from 5 to 12 members in only a few months time. Unfortunately, we don’t manage to have retreats on a regular basis in order to reflect about recent developments and come up with new ideas for the future. This time, we sat together for one day in early August and, indeed, it paid off. A lot of great new ideas have been raised which we will tackle in the coming weeks and months – not least the relaunch of our website. We keep you updated..
